

UCAN's Leadership and Resilience Development program is an adolescent leadership program designed to develop young boys and girls into strong, confident men and women through education and exposure to a broader realm of opportunity. Young people will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to lead also effectively adjust and cope with life’s challenges. Our community partners, mentors, and volunteer network foster and support the youth in all aspects of their development working to break cycles of poverty, high-risk behaviors, school truancy, and low self-esteem.

Members are also encouraged to discover ways they will give back to our community. The uniqueness of this program utilizes a group, as well as a 1-on-1-advocacy/coaching model. The activities range from workshops and focus groups to social and cultural field trips.
